Make Sure You Get Your Water Heater Serviced this Holiday Season

Christmastime is just around the corner, and for folks in Riverside, CA, that means visiting friends and family. The kids will be out of school and folks will be coming in from all over to enjoy the comforts of home. All of that can create excessive strain on your water heater, especially if you’re having guests overnight. It can be an irritant at the very least, with showers running out of hot water and squabbles arising over extended bathroom use. At the worst, it can lead to a major breakdown, forcing an emergency plumbing call at a time when you want to focus on enjoying the holidays.

The solution is a water heater maintenance session, performed before the holidays get here and with enough time to treat any issues that it may uncover. If you get your water heater serviced this holiday season, you can prevent a number of issues, including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Running Out of Hot Water. If your water heater is struggling to keep up with demand, it could be an issue with the burners, which a technician can replace or repair. It also may be a build-up of sediment in the bottom of the tank, which forms a barrier between the water and the heat.
  • Rusty Water. Rusty water is a major problem and usually necessitates replacing the entire water heater. The solution is to keep the anode rod in the water tank replaced regularly, to avoid rust forming on the tank.
  • Leaks are a concern with every aspect of your plumbing system, but when it hits the pipes around your water heater, it can disrupt your household and its guests. A maintenance session can check for potential leaks and take steps to address it if further repairs are needed.

Call upon Avis Plumbing, Heating and Air for a water heater maintenance session in your home!
